Laid Off Rebel Cheese Workers Facing Retaliation

On June 4th, Rebel Cheese workers delivered a petition to management signed by 93% of staff asking for a $2 raise. The current average wage at Rebel Cheese is about $16/hour while Austin's Living Wage is $21.80/hour.

After dismissing the staffs request for a raise, Rebel Cheese LAID OFF 5 workers on June 22nd. Delivering a petition to request a change in workplace conditions is legally protected activity under Section 7 of the National Labor Relations Act.

Retaliating against workers for organizing is 100% illegal.
