Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ben Lee, and professionally, I’ve worked in marketing and advertising for a number of years. Most recently worked for a software company.

And I say, “most recently”, as I was laid off last October. In the months to follow, of course has been a mad rush to update my resume and materials, applying to any & everything (100+ resumes sent), and discovering new challenges on how the job hunt game changed… But ultimately this experience has been a series of no replies, ghosting and rejections.

Of course the job search continues, but now I find my cash on-hand is running low. Dangerously low. And I am hoping to ask you for help.

My ask is that you might be willing to donate to help me raise money to cover a month of my base cost of living.

Will a month be enough? I have no idea. But I feel like it will need to be.

But happens if I can’t make the next month?

This is where I wondered how open to be on this… but there are, of course, the normal things: necessities, utilities, mortgage, HOA dues… But the big thing? I’m in Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. And if I can’t make payment, protections in place will expire. The heaviest result will be a Creditor being able to force a foreclosure on my home, as they tried for prior to my bankruptcy.

Loss of home and no income as a worst case? I wouldn’t know how to rebound from that.
