Lahaina Wildfires Aid for Phil and Ally
Donation protected
Aloha Friends and Family. My Dad Phil and his Girlfriend Ally are two of the many Lahaina families who were affected and displaced by the Wildfires in Historic Lahaina Town.
On Tuesday 8/8/23, they barely escaped the home they were living in because everything happened so unexpected and quick.
The two of them were separated because my Dad told Ally to run while he chose to stay back to help a family member escape the home who unfortunately didn’t survive the fire.
While Ally ran into the chaos outside, she eventually found refuge under a cement parking garage near the Lahaina Outlets, but my Dad ran in the opposite direction towards the Lahaina Civic Center where he flagged down a Police Officer who was kind enough to give him a ride to the Lahaina Post Office. He then ran towards Canoe Beach where he hoped he run into Ally.
While he didn’t find Ally.. my brother PJ who escaped from Lahaina came back to Canoe Beach in the early morning on Wednesday 8/9/23 in hopes of finding my Dad as he hadn’t heard from them since they left Lahaina the night before. As my brother searched around and talked to people there, my dad heard a familiar voice while sitting on one of the tables. They were reunited after one of the worst nights of their lives.
Ally was offered a ride out of Lahaina by a kind group of people who she stuck with until finally reconnecting with my Dad, but not until Friday 8/11/23 in the afternoon. Ally didn’t have a phone, but found my sister-in-law’s cell phone number by searching her up on Facebook after borrowing someone’s phone. Luckily, Abby is a photographer and has her number posted publicly.
This is just one story. One story amongst hundreds.
Please consider donating to help my Dad Phil and Ally get back on their feet after this tragedy. Ally also worked at The Lahaina Cannery Mall and while it is virtually untouched, she is without employment. No amount is too small. Mahalo Nui Loa for your time.
