Aloha! My family and I were in our home in Napili when the Fire happened in Lahaina. We are still here in Napili, in Napilihau - trying to help our community. Maui Food bank has been to Maui Prep to make donations, and our family has been up to help, and help others in our neighborhood and community with food and housing. We just got power!!

There are MANY families displaced, staying with friends & Ohana (family) - and there are many who are without housing in Napili, Lahaina, and the West Side of Maui. Many Lahaina residents evacuated Lahaina, and came north to us in Napili. The priority was evacuating the tourists on vacation from the west side, if they were able - and now many west side residents are still here. I am starting this page to help raise funds for the folks who need money for housing, including rent and deposits - for folks currently staying on our street, with neighbors - or with Napili friends. There are STILL people looking for places to stay.

The 2nd major long-term issues is the schools. Our sons are 13 and almost 12 - and many of their neighborhood friends don't have school in downtown Lahaina any longer, Kam III is gone - and I don't know if or when they will re-open in Lahaina Intermediate or Lahainaluna High School. Maui Prep in Napili is planning to open - they are a Private School, that doesn't receive any government funds for tuition. The fact that we are located in Napili, and the fact that the school is Private - they have the ability and willingness to get open, and get the kids in school - just like they did during Covid. Funds raised here will go to families, in our neighborhood, for tuition and/or transportation to the other side of the island for school. Believe me, the kids are READY to go back to school!
