Lahaina fires devastating home loss…

Please Kokua Keahi & Ali’s Ohana and help them rebuild their lives. I am Karine, a close friend of Keahi & Ali’s Ohana, I am organizing this fundraiser to help them get basic needs & begin rebuilding their lives. They have lost their home, sailboat and business in the Lahaina Fire and everything they owned. Keahi has served the Maui community as a firefighter for the last 15 years and he served on the front lines yesterday on the fire, saving many lives. Ali and Keahi run GungHo Sailing together and they loved sharing real sailing off of West Maui with kama'aina and visitors alike. Keahi is a competitive sailor, most recently racing aboard Merlin on the July 2023 Transpac and will compete at the 505 World Championship in San Francisco in September 2023. When Keahi's kids were young, he ran the Lahaina Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program for years. Keahi and Ali have 5 amazing kids together : Mihana, Nalu, Tepua, Zach and Jed and they need our help right now. In the family sailing tradition, Mihana is pursuing her Captain's License and had been working fulll time as GungHo's First Mate. Nalu is in his senior year at Maine Maritime Academy, studying to be a maritime engineer. Tepua worked at Lahaina Grill and Reefdancer as a scuba diver and is volunteering to help her Grams with Lahaina Restoration Foundation's important work. Zach worked at Kimo's and is entering his sophomore year at the University of Hawaii studying Computer Science. Jed is a senior at Hawaii Techonoligy Academy, works at the Institute for Astronomy on Maui and is pursuing a career in astrophysics and music, as an avid drummer and guitarist. Please consider donating so they can start to rebuild their life. It's going to be a long road. Mahalo nui loa! xoxo
