I’m fundraising for my brother, Jude Howard. He and his partner, Cherie, have both lost their Lahaina homes in one of the Maui fires currently raging. They lived in the neighborhood off of Lahainaluna Road, which overlooks old Lahaina.

My brother is an amazing, loving and thoughtful man. He’s an incredible father, devoted Christian and lives his life with integrity. I deeply admire him and it breaks my heart to see what he is going through.

While we’re incredibly thankful everyone is okay (there are six kids, a granddaughter and and grandson between them), the road to rebuild their lives and homes is going to be challenging to say the least.

My brother is a contractor and in addition to both their homes and all of their belongings, he also lost his work trailer and all of his tools in the fire. This is the only way he has to make a living and provide for his family and to rebuild their homes. Currently, they are staying upcountry with extended family and are still in a state of shock after fleeing for their lives and losing everything. I’m stepping in (with my brother’s permission) to ease the burden of creating this fundraiser and to help get them back on their feet and replace some of what was lost.

Any funds raised will go to immediate financial needs (food, clothes, etc) and the rest for replacing my brothers tools so he can get back to work and also rebuild their homes. While we don’t know what the full cost of that will be, this is a starting place for them.
