LAHAINA WILDFIRE RELIEF

Aloha My name is Chelsie and this gofundme was created for my Twin sister Chrisie Aina-Lucas who was affected by the Lahaina Wildfire on August 8.2023.

At the time she was working at Down the Hatch on Front street and staying in Lahaina.

The apartment complex she was staying in was burnt to the ground along with thousands of others that lost their loved ones, jobs and homes here on Maui.

My sister had no time to pack she escaped and left with just the clothes on her back. Running from one side of Lahaina town to the Civic Center which took her almost 2 hours on foot to get to safety. Definitely she’s lucky to be alive and that’s all that matters.

She’s slowly getting out of her zone and getting stuff done. Like applying for important documents, applying for jobs & looking and applying for housing is all in the process for her.

We are also seeking counseling for her mental health as she has been having a hard time like most grieving and coping with life right now.

She is staying with us my family of 6 in Kihei for a short amount of time. Finding Housing is my 2nd priority for sure to help my sister.
