I had 4 minutes to get a few things from my apartment to my car. Cinders were exploding around me and on me. I tried to make a second trip back to the apartment but all I could save was on the first trip because of the heat. I got my Mac Mini, two fiddles and a little cash. I escaped down Wainee Street running over trees and downed wires. I made it to the by-pass, sat for 2 hours in line and was then made to make a U-turn and drive to the center of the island and park overnight, My car and my son saved me. The VA, the next morning, patched me up and gave me replacement meds. I was taken in by a Hawaiian family Up Country. I am now reunited with my family, At age 80 I don't have much financial future.
