Lahaina Family of 3 loses everything

Aloha,

Our names are Raphael Imperial Jr. (RJ) and Christine Mariano. We were both born and raised on Maui and have lived in Lahaina all of our lives. We are high school sweethearts but known each other since elementary. Regardless, if you grew up living in Lahaina, specifically, Lahainaluna Rd. everyone knew each others' families and your neighbors became a part of your life. We were lucky to bring our 2 year old son into this world in 2021. Then, last year, we got engaged. We were excited to start a new chapter together.

Like many others, August 8th changed our lives forever. For the first 72 hours, we were all separated, I, Christine stuck in Wailuku, RJ in Ka'anapali and our son, Landon was nowhere to be found and we could not get ahold of anyone to check on him. Thankfully, he was safe with his grandparents. Our home was lost along with everything in it. What hurts most, is we are still trying to find RJ's dad. We don't know how we will piece our life and our hearts back together, so your support means the world to us during such a tragic time.
