Lahaina family: Dora Makaula & Roy Lanoza

Hello family and friends! The island of Maui needs our help. For those of you who have asked how to directly help support Aunty Dora, Uncle Roy and their family. I, along with my mother-in-law, Aunty Dora's sister, Dawn East, have created this GoFundMe.

We are thankful, and praise God everyone is physically safe, albeit, not without burn marks, scrapes, bruises, sprains and minor bone fractures. Aunty Dora specifically, had to jump into the ocean after being at a standstill in traffic, losing her truck, thankfully not her life.

The majority of the family is currently staying with extended family in Waikapu. Their home was not damaged however, without power they are unable to return and continue to incur displacement expenses. Additionally, one of Uncle Roy's places of employment was destroyed in the fire. This multi-generational family's income will be negatively impacted for a while

Many residents of Maui are picking up the ashes of their lives, acquiring new driver's licenses, bank cards, cell phones, and more. Additionally, the community is coming together for one another in the spirit of aloha. We all have an opportunity to be a part of this beautiful community with our generosity. If you feel compelled and would like to give to a specific family, locals to Maui, and residents of Lahaina, consider donating. All contributions will go straight to the family.
