If you’re part of the Lafayette community, you know this is a place where people show up. For the bake sales, the concerts, the last-minute “does anyone have…?” texts and, most importantly, for each other.
We’re asking you to show up now for one of our own.
A beloved Lafayette teacher (Ms. Hoppe) is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, including chemo and upcoming surgery. She’ll be away from the classroom for a stretch while she focuses on getting better.
If you know her, you know two things. She is incredibly strong, and she would absolutely never ask for help like this herself.
So we’re asking for her.
This fund will help cover the real-life stuff that comes with treatment. Unpaid time off, rides to appointments, meals on the days when cooking is not happening (because yes, we all love a Broad Branch Market run but it’s even better when someone else handles it) as well as the peace of mind that she had some extra resources to help her with her kids.
She gives so much to our kids and our community every single day. This is one small way we can give a little back.
If you’re able to contribute, in any amount, it will make a real difference. And if not, sharing this or keeping her and her family in your thoughts matters too.
Thank you for being the kind of community that shows up with generosity and heart.
With gratitude
