LADYBUCS STADIUM REBUILD

The Barbe Lady Bucs Softball team finished as the runner up in Louisiana 5A state playoffs in 2019.  With second year Coach Candyce Carter and 4 Freshman and 3 Sophomores contributing to the 2019 State Runner up team the future was very bright.  The program has tried numerous attempts to upgrade the facility to match the level of talent on the field.  These girls work so hard on and off the field.  They carry a team GPA of 3.6, they donate their time to nursing homes and churches during the holiday season among other community service activities.  As we all have dealt with Covid-19, which has hit our community hard, now we are dealing with the destruction from not 1 but 2 major hurricanes. 

 

Most of our team members have damage to their homes.  One of our players father is a first responder working day and night as he has a fallen tree through his house. We have multiple players and families living in RV’s during the process of rebuilding. Many players have relocated only to come back and hope for a 2021 softball season. We hope and work to play a great season in 2021 but never imagined the obstacles it would present.  These girls were looking forward to a bright career at Barbe High School after the 2019 season, but things have really been tough for this group.  They have lost their entire hitting facility, outfield fence, scoreboard, along with the backstop currently laying on the field. Screens, hitting tools, tarps, softballs, bats have all also suffered major damage. 

 

Please help us rebuild our facility.  We would love to give these girls a nice home field for their final High School softball Seasons.
