Lady Lucy's Eye Surgery

Hi all!

My name is Kelly and this is Lady Lucy! I adopted Lucy from Texas after finding an ad for her posted on a second chance Great Dane page. Lady was being surrendered by her owner/breeder and, while I was aware that she was going to need some medical attention (like getting spayed), I was not aware of the extent to which this lil' mama was NOT cared for! We've had pet insurance since Day 1; but none of her medical costs have been covered thus far, including this procedure, since they're all categorized as "pre-existing". I am determined to do whatever it takes to ensure Lady feels her absolute best; who knows when she was last able to look out onto the world and see everything we're able to see!

Not only was she living outside after just having her THIRD litter of puppies; she had a laundry list of medical issues that needed to be addressed. Her eyes were infected and oozing on our drive home to CT, and her bill for her eye surgery alone will be just over $3,000. We've already seen our eye specialist in Massachusetts and are hoping to have that procedure done first before she has to go back under to be spayed + tacked.
