In 2015 I found Archer and Lana in Rancho Cucamango.
Originally Lana was to be taken care of by someone else, but they proved to be abusive, neglectful, and irresponsible.

His track record included leaving a previous dog, a hedgehog dying in his closet, and a turtle dying in a plastic tub in the backyard. Over the next four years he neglected Lana, whether it be physically hitting her, not getting her any shots, including the mandatory Rabies shots, or not handling any of the basic responsibilities that come with the title of being a pet owner.
He didn’t get her a leash or a dog tag, so I ended up getting them for her, so I can take her on all the walks with her brother. I take them for two 1/2 hour walks a day and if I’m ever working, I hire a professional dog walker.
I used to ask her previous owner to go on walks in the evenings with me, knowing he couldn’t go on the morning walks that I took them both on due to his work schedule. He said no so many times in order to play his precious video games, which he constantly put before her, to the point that I literally stopped asking him and continued to take them both by myself.

Over the years I’ve taken Archer and Lana hiking at Malibu, Serrania Park, Santa Monica Mountains, Corbin, Stoney Point, to Sonoma County, and do dog parks as well. I take them to the drive thru at In and Out for their favorite burgers. I get them their favorite desert, dog ice cream, from Yoghund. I get them bones from Hector over at Pets R US2000. I have their dog food mailed from Petco. I add Nutra Thrive (dog nutrients) and cut up carrots for their meals. They have a great life together and a lot more adventures to come.

Lana had lost a tooth, been bit previously by the neighbor’s dog, and not only did he fail to bring her to the vet on these incidents, but he failed to do anything to prevent her from jumping the neighbors wall. When I asked him about it, he said he’d build a wall.
After his playstation 4 controller was chewed he demanded Lana be left outside even knowing about the neighbor’s dog, which I reiterated the importance of. Four days later he said he’d be home in an hour, but came back about seven hours later and Lana’s face was torn up, she almost lost an eye.

Even after this he still failed to do anything to prevent it from reoccurring so the neighbors and I, knowing the importance of this put up an extension so this wouldn’t happen again.
At this point, I knew he was not to be trusted to take care of her, so I got Lana her overdue Rabies vaccine and got her chipped (I already got her a leash and dog tag long before this, as well as her initial shots when I got them).
I continued to walk her with her brother twice a day and feed them. I always saw the siblings as a pair and took her everywhere with her brother Archer without this person for over 4 years. I stopped asking this person to do anything for Lana, because even though I had hoped for them to learn and change, they failed to do so in four years. They even “rovered” other people’s dogs then worked M-F where now the responsibilities of other people’s dogs fell onto me as well.
This year the person moved out, got married, had their honeymoon, and at the last second asked to get Lana chipped and registered after not doing so for over four years. I told him he neglected to care for her (to say the least) and that I had already got her chipped. I told him that Archer and Lana are inseparable and offered to pay him so he can rescue another dog (even though the dogs were free and that he shouldn’t have a dog).

He said no amount of money would make up for it, but then sued me for $10,000 for Lana ($7,500 for emotional damage and $2,500 for Lana, once again putting himself before the dog).
They had a meeting with one of the best attorneys and denied all accounts of abuse and neglect.
The court neglected to acknowledge Assembly Bill 2274, that a dog is more than just personal property and their wellbeing is to be taken into account when deciding the custody of Lana. This law passed January 2019 and has yet to be fully acknowledged by the court.
The judge looked at Lana as if she was an item on the menu and without any reasoning agreed that she was worth $2,500, but ruled out the emotional damage…
So, I'm taking it upon myself to raise money to prevent Lana from being separated from her brother and life-long companion, Archer. Due to an unfortunate circumstance $2,500 must be raised in order to keep Lana from being separated from her brother. I had hoped that the first time I'd use crowd funding it would be for a film, not for something like this, but I had several set backs this past month replacing my phone, as well as some other personal matters, so any donation would greatly be appreciated!
