A Plea to Save Our Sweet Girl, Lady
Imagine your best friend. The one who greets you with a wiggling body and a happy sigh every single day. For my best friends, Alissa and George, that's Lady. She's their golden-white Corgi-Lab mix with a beautiful purple nose, a silly, wiggling walk, and ears that can’t quite decide if they’re perky or floppy. She brings so much joy and laughter into their home—not just for them, but also for her two dog siblings, four cat siblings, and a turtle. Lady isn't just their dog; she's one of my favorite sweet girls to visit, and a true part of our family.

The picture on our GoFundMe page tells a heartbreaking part of her story. You can see how thin our sweet girl has become; we can clearly feel her spine and ribs. But beneath that weight loss is a large, hard belly—the tumor that is taking over her body and threatening her life.

This joy was shattered yesterday when we learned that Lady has a very large, rapidly growing tumor wrapped around her spleen. The oncologist was clear: she needs surgery immediately to have a chance at life.

The cost of this life-saving procedure is a staggering $7,900 to $10,000. On top of that, Alissa and George have already spent nearly $1,000 on two ultrasounds. The first was for a diagnosis, the second instance was after having a scare that her tumor ruptured and she had internal bleeding, thankfully no rupture! This sudden, devastating expense is far more than they could have ever planned for.

We are desperately trying to give her the chance she deserves to live a full and happy life, but they can’t do it alone.

I am humbly and urgently asking for your help on their behalf. Any donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to getting Lady the surgery she so desperately needs. Please help us save our best friend. Thank you for your kindness.
