Hello everyone, my name is Noelis, and tomorrow I’ll be turning 37. That’s a reality that felt uncertain just 10 years ago.

But then the universe gave me a beautiful soul to care for — my cat, Lady. The queen of Noelislandia. My queen, and my daughter.

That’s why this year, I’m dedicating my birthday to her. Because all I’ve ever really wanted is for Lady and her siblings to be healthy and happy.

And for that to happen right now, Lady needs urgent double surgery.

Lady is 11 years old and a queen (and she knows it). Without exaggerating, this feline queen saved my life and changed my life forever. We met during some of the hardest years of my life, and now there is forever before and after Lady.

She chose me and I am forever grateful for that. She blessed me with purpose, with hope and endless love.

We now need your help so that she continues to live a happy and healthy life.

During Labor Day weekend, Lady stopped eating and drinking because of the pain from a dead, infected tooth. An emergency vet visit revealed even more:

Severe tooth infection requiring dental surgery and extractions

A bladder stone, cause bleeding in the bladder which can lead to kidney failure if untreated

A heart murmur that required a cardiology check before surgery (thankfully she’s cleared!)

The estimate for her surgeries and recovery is around $5,600, on top of the $1,900 already spent on emergency visits and testing. My total fundraising goal is $6,000.

Lady’s surgery needs to happen as soon as possible, now that her antibiotics are finishing. Without treatment, the pain and risk will return quickly.

One of the greatest gifts Lady gave me was my initiation into the feral cat community. I learned to care for her while she was still feral, to socialize, and to practice TNR. Lady was just the beginning — dozens of cats followed. It has been a rewarding, sometimes difficult road, and one I know I could only walk with the help of this community. That’s what it’s always been about: helping each other, helping the kitties.

It’s always been easier for me to ask for help for a feral or a rescue — but not so easy for my own forever babies. Some of you may remember that four years ago, Lady needed surgery, and this community made it possible. Because of that support — that truly moving gesture — she’s been able to live four more happy, healthy years as the queen of Noelislandia.

Now, Lady faces a new challenge. And once again, I’m asking for your help to give her the care she needs.
