ラダックの子供たちにより良い学習環境を Support for School in Ladakh

初めまして、大東万須美です。

シンギングボウルを使った音のセラピーをしています（https://masumidaito.com/1）。

勉強のためインド北部ラダック地方を訪れたとき、レーという街の小さな私立学校ラムスタン・モデル・スクールに出会いました。

かつて仏教国ラダック王国として栄えたこの地方では、チベット文化が根付いています。そんなラダック地方特有の言語や文化を子供たちに教えることで、その地方の伝統的生活様式や文化価値を未来に残していきたいという志を持つこの学校は、今大きな経済的支援を必要としています。

現在学校には50名の生徒が通っています。生徒のうち20％が恵まれない家庭の子供たちで、学校が彼らの学費を負担しています（授業料は平均1ヶ月約6200円）。

教室は小さく、数が足りません。11学年の生徒たちが、8つの小さな教室をシェアしながら使っています。

図書室、実験室、給食室、食堂、集会用ホール、教員のための職員室もありません。

水道システムがなく、貯水タンクから水を運んで手を洗っています。適切なトイレもありません。

さらにスクール・バスも必要です。生徒たちの多くは遠方から通っており、学校から20km以上離れた村から毎日通う子どもたちもいます。

現在学校では2台のバスをレンタルしており、1台につき毎月5万インドルピー（約88000円）、そしてドライバーひとりあたり月15000インドルピー（約26500円）を支払っています。

スクールバスを2台購入するには150万インドルピー（約265万円）が必要です。

また、経験豊富で優秀な教員への適切な給与も必要です。現在8人の教員がおり、2人はボランティアで教えています。夏と冬の合計2ヶ月の休暇を除く期間の給料は1ヶ月約15万インドルピー（約265000円）です。

最後に、将来の望みとしてホステル（寮）の建設があります。毎日通学ができないほど遠くに住む生徒たちは、今レー周辺にある施設を借りて滞在しています。ホステル建設には約300万インドルピー（約531万円）の費用が見込まれます。

そんなラムスタン・モデル・スクールを支援したいと考え、ファンドレイジングを始めました。

Hi, my name is Masumi Daito, I’m sound healing therapist from Japan. (https://masumidaito.com）。

When I visited Ladakh in north India, I came to know one local private school ”Lamstan Model Public School”.

The region Ladakh used to be a kingdom and it has an unique tradition and culture.

The school provides the students with not only modern education, but also moral and ethical education. The school strives to maintain and cultivate the ancient Ladakhi culture and traditions. It is important to student and families to learn the cultural values of their ancestors, landscape, and historic ways of living in harmony with the environment.

Currently there are 50 students, with some new enrollment regularly. 20 percent of the students are from socioeconomically underprivileged homes, for whom the school provides free education (average tutor fee per month is 3500 Indian Rupees depending on the students’ economical situation).

The classrooms are small and the number of existing classrooms is not enough. The students of 11 different grades are right now sharing the 8 very small classrooms.

The school works hard to provide our students with good-quality education but still need a lot to improve.

The school does not currently have the following facilities such as library, laboratory, canteen kitchen and dining hall, auditorium to gather and office for staff.

The school urgently needs a proper toilet for the students, too. They don’t have water system in the school and they usually collect water from a water storage tank in the school yard to wash their hands etc.

Additionally, two school buses are needed. Most of our students are from far areas. Some of them attend school from 20km’s distance everyday. Currently we rent two buses which cost Rs.50,000/each per month (600USD) and for drivers Rs.15,000/ each per month (180 USD). If we purchase two new buses, they will cost approximately Rs.1,500,000 (18000 USD).

Salary for amazing competent and well trained teachers is neccessary. The school has 8 teachers and 2 of them are volunteers. The teachers’ salary, except total 2 months’ vacation in summer and winter, is approximately Rs.150,000 per month (1800 USD).

Finally, the shool has a hope to build a hostel for the students from the remote areas. There are students who are staying at rented houses in and around Leh to attend school because their home is too far to commute. We estimate expenses for the hostel at approximately Rs.3 million (36000 USD).
