Hope, Help, and Healing
This picture could never adequately be described. The love shown here and beauty of these perfect, sweet feet could never be relayed solely through words. These are the perfect feet of Sweet Baby Hasten Emory Reed, son of Lacy Townsend and Holden Reed. Many of you know and love Lacy and Holden very much. Lacy graduated from nursing school in May 2018 and has just started a new job at an OB/GYN clinic in Grand Junction. Holden is continuing to travel back and forth to Colorado, while working in Texas. Both of them, along with Kane and Karter, their dogs, were very excited to be a mom, dad, and big brothers.
Hasten was due in February of 2019, but was tragically lost in December of 2018. Of course, all those who loved him so much, especially his mother and father, are absolutely heart broken. The joy of meeting their beautiful baby was cut short due to his terrible loss. Losing a baby is something no one could ever imagine. While many family and friends gathered around Lacy and Holden during the first weeks of loss, they now face a whole new set of challenges. The new year has come and many family and friends have returned to their regular lives. Though many still think of and pray for Holden, Lacy, and Hasten often, life continues to bring challenges for them. Along with the mourning process continuing, the medical bills have now started to come in.
The medical bills of Hasten’s birth are coming in are very expensive. Additionally, Lacy and Holden would like to seek grievance counseling which can cost $100/hour. Lacy was instructed not to return to work for 6 weeks after Hasten’s birth and will just this week will be starting her new job. Though Holden has returned to work, he took a large pay cut for his extended time off in December to be with Lacy and Hasten. Paying for the birthing bills, additional medical bills, labs, follow up appointments, and counseling appointments are a huge burden for Lacy and Holden in addition to their grieving.
This is a position no one ever imagines they will be. However, these two people that we love so dearly are and that is why I am reaching out to you to help them. Many of you have already done so much, and they are so very thankful for that! I ask that you continue to think of them often and pray continually for them. If you are in a position where you would like to do more, we ask that you donate. Any donations will be used toward medical bills and counseling for Lacy, Holden, and Hasten. Lacy and Holden are both so humble, they have not asked for this; it has voluntarily been created by loved ones to help them during this hard time.
