SUPPORT LA COUNTY HOSPITALS | COVID-19 OUTBREAK
Donation protected

My father is currently a nurse at LAC+USC county hospital. He is working in the 4B pulmonary ICU, which treats and cares for COVID-19 patients. His unit lacks the proper supplies for nurses and doctors to take precautions and protect themselves. Medical practitioners are substituting isolation gowns with plastic bags to adequately protect themselves from the virus. With the use of makeshift equipment, nurses such as my dad fear the contraction of the virus and contracting the virus to loved ones. My father sleeps in the garage rather than in his bedroom, and with the absence of air conditioning and the uncomfortable surface of an air mattress, his uncomfortable nights and long work hours make his life difficult.
To support our nurses and doctors, one of my friends, Kevin Lee, and I, Timothy Jia, have banded together to raise money to purchase the proper personal protective equipment for the doctors and nurses caring and treating COVID-19 patients. The funds raised will provide hospitals such as LAC+USC to acquire more personal protective equipment to protect nurses and doctors like my dad. With enough support, the nurses of LA County will be better protected and more prepared to tackle the pandemic.
