Support for Lachy in remission after his year long Cancer battle

This is 9 yr old Lachy, a little battler who has just endured the toughest year of his life battling Cancer, Ewings Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. Lachy is in remission since late October and is trying to get himself fighting fit return to his normal life and full time school after being absent for the whole of Year 4. On behalf of his parents Vanessa and Colin and his 10 yr old brother Cailean I am reaching out to ask for help in his recovery and help the family restore financial stability.

Since late January 2025 Lachy has endured more medical procedures than any child should ever have too. 14 rounds of chemotherapy, 30 rounds of radiation, over 25 blood and platelets transfusions, 100’s of blood tests, biopsies, port insertions, infections and temperatures, panic attacks, general anaesthetics and endless weeks in hospital all whilst suffering an extreme needle phobia. Lachy has battled Cancer smiling and fighting with such positivity despite being separated from his family and friends.

As a family Lachy’s family has been very grateful to have received help from their family, friends, their school community, Shobukan their martial arts community and charities such as Kids Cancer Support Community and Hero Hunters. They have been provided with food and fuel vouchers, garden maintenance, peer support, Lego and keeping Lachy in Roblox vouchers. The support has been amazing but his family has suffered enormous financial sacrifice with Lachy’s mum Vanessa having to take leave from her employment for the year with no pay.

I am reaching out to ask for support for Lachy and his family to help rebuild positive experiences for Lachy , to help the family financially recover and give Lachy the childhood he deserves after his battle with Cancer. Lachy now faces year of ongoing medical testing and rehabilitation to physically rebuild his body and strength. He needs ongoing support with tutoring, some of which is being supported by Ronald McDonald House but will need to continue beyond their assistance. The family would like to make memories for Lachy and his brother Cailean which is tough after such a harrowing year and the financial burden experienced. Lachy’s biggest dream is to own a dog and his family needs to get back to a financially stable position to achieve this.

If you are able to support Lachy and his family it would be greatly appreciated. Also if you are able to, please consider supporting charities like Hero Hunters and Kids Cancer Support Group who locally help support families going through Cancer and Blood
