Lachie's health has deteriorated unexpectedly rapidly in the last two weeks.
He is currently in a palliative care hospital. He was removed from the immunotherapy trial and there are no more treatment options - they are just trying to manage his symptoms and pain.
His greatest wish is to get home so he can spend time with Simon, friends and family.
His brother Malcolm is arriving in Sydney this week. We are working through the legalities and logistics of getting him to Melbourne taking into consideration the current restrictions.
Lachie's sister Louise is also arriving in Melbourne this week.
My name is Carlie. I'm a close friend of Lachie's and he is also family - we have a 3 year old daughter named Eden together. I am managing this fund on behalf of Lachie and his partner Simon.
$15,000 will be transferred to Mal and Jules this week to cover the cost of the airfare and hotel quarantine expenses.
Funds will be reserved for Louise who will also have to pay for quarantine on her return to QLD.
Funds will be transferred to Malcolm and Louise to cover their costs whilst staying in Melbourne.
The remaining funds will be reserved for a memorial which will take place once Covid restrictions have eased.
