In October 2024, our world was shaken when our beloved Lachie, my incredible 19-year-old nephew, received a life-altering diagnosis that instantly turned his, his fiancé's, and our entire family's and friends' lives upside down.

What began with seemingly minor issues with urination led to emergency room visits and a series of tests, ultimately confirming the devastating news that Lachie had been diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in his prostate and pelvic area, a rare and aggressive form of cancer most often found in young people.

Just a year and a half after graduating from Padua in 2022 and embarking on full-time work, Lachie's life has been unexpectedly put on hold. He is now facing a long and arduous journey to recovery.

Currently undergoing intensive chemotherapy, Lachie is bravely preparing to begin radiation therapy in the coming weeks. His strength and resilience in the face of such a daunting challenge have been truly inspiring to us all.

Throughout this incredibly difficult journey, Lachie has been surrounded by unwavering love and support from his family and friends. Throughout this challenging time, his fiancé has been his rock, and they are looking forward to celebrating their marriage later this year, a symbol of their enduring love.

However, the harsh reality is that this battle is not only physically and mentally exhausting but also incredibly financially draining. Unable to work and without government support, Lachie struggles with mounting medical bills, travel for treatment, household expenses, and everyday necessities. We want to ease this burden so he can focus on recovery and his future with his fiancé.

Our goal is to lift the burden of overwhelming bills so that Lachie can focus all his energy on his treatment and recovery, and look forward to his upcoming marriage without this added stress.
