In December 2025, Lachie and his wife, Laura, received the devastating news that Lachie, at just 28 years old, had been diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer, which has spread to his liver and lymph nodes. It’s the kind of diagnosis that turns life upside down in an instant.

Lachie is a devoted husband, a loyal friend, and someone who has always shown up for the people he loves. Now, he’s facing the toughest battle of his life with strength, humour and determination.

By his side every step of the way is his incredible wife, Laura - his rock, his biggest supporter, and his constant source of strength. Together, they are facing this challenge head-on, but the road ahead will be long and demanding, both emotionally and financially.

On January 13th, Lachie began his first round of intensive chemotherapy treatment, which will continue over the coming months, alongside multiple major surgeries and possible radiation.

This fundraiser has been organised by Lachie’s brother, Kieran, as one practical way everyone can rally around Lachie and Laura during this incredibly difficult time. Many people have already asked how they can help, and this is one meaningful way to do so.

Between treatment schedules, specialist appointments, mortgage repayments, everyday living costs and time away from work, the pressure adds up quickly.

Our goal is to lighten the load and ease some pressure so they can focus their energy where it belongs - on Lachie’s health and on getting through this together.
