Lacey's Endo Cancer Egg Retrieval & Surrogacy Fund

Donation protected

My older sister Lacey has been through anyone's worst nightmare twice in her life now. When she was 21, her only son at the time, Landan (3yrs) passed away suddenly from Meningococcal Meningitis. She was just recently married and a month prior Landan walked her down the aisle at her wedding. As hard as it was for our entire family, no one bared the burden on their hearts that she did. Ontop of grieving for Landan she developed debilitating anxiety for which she was almost hospitalized.

A little over a year after Landan died Lacey & her husband Andy found out they were expecting again! In November 2008 they were blessed with another little boy, Layne. Lacey credits Layne with helping to "save her life" as he brought joy and purpose into her life again.

Lacey and Andy have tried over the last 8yrs to get pregnant again. Lacey was diagnosed with PCOS about 3yrs into trying for another baby. Prescription fertility medication, Clomid, was unsuccessful for them.

Lacey returned to the Dr in December 2018 with some troubling symptoms but due to her age & being healthy nothing serious was suspected. After testing she was diagnosed with having a uterine polyp and thickening of her endometrium (the lining of a woman's uterus.) She was scheduled to have a D&C to remove the thickened lining and a polypectomy to remove the polyp. After surgery Andy asked the Dr, because he knew Lacey's anxiety if there was any cause for concern about cancer, to which the Dr had no concern about.

A week after surgery Lacey was called back to the Dr.'s office. After hellos her Dr looked at her and said "I'm not going to beat around the bush, it's not good, it's cancer." Words Lacey spent so much time dreading with her years of anxiety. And just like that our lives have been turned upside down again.

Lacey has met with her oncologist, an amazing Dr, her & Andy feel very comfortable with & trust.

She was basically given three options:
1. Hysterectomy w/salpingo-oophorectomy
(removal of uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes & ovaries)
2. Have an IUD placed with uterine biopsy's every 3mos
3. Harvest eggs then proceed with the hysterectomy

After a lot of thought over a weekend and indecisiveness Lacey decided that she would be more comfortable overall having an egg retrieval done then have everything removed.

Anyone who knows my sister know's that family is very important to her. She has so badly wanted more children and this diagnosis takes that choice out of her hands. Lacey & her husband are also open to adoption in the future if surrogacy does not work out.

Due to the emergent nature Lacey & her family are struggling with coming up for the funds for the procedure, which as you may or may not know, has to be paid for upfront. So I am asking to please help my sister by donating anything you can to help with the cost of the fertility meds, egg retrieval & future surrogacy costs. Thank you so much for your consideration of helping our family! <3
