Lacey’s Road To Recovery❤️‍

Hi Everyone.

My name is Jade and I have created this Go Fund Me page on behalf of myself and my family.

I would like to share a horrible event that occurred on Saturday October 7th to our precious dog Lacey.

Lacey was outside for her daily run and bathroom break when she suddenly yelped. As we went to see what was going on (thinking maybe she stepped on something sharp) we noticed she kept falling to the ground and was struggling to keep herself up. We brought her to the emergency vet where she was diagnosed with IVDD (Intervertebral Disk Disease).

Intervertebral Disc Disease is a neurological condition in dogs that involves the spinal cord, the vertebrae, and the disc material between each vertebra. The vertebrae protects the spinal cord as well as the nerves that transmit impulses to and from the brain to the rest of the body (and vice-versa).

Lacey has been terribly effected as she has a slipped disk causing pressure on the spine and paralysis. She is semi paralyzed in her hind legs therefore is unable to stand, walk, has loss of appetite, weakness, and pain. Lacey has always been a high energy and loving dog. She loves to run, play, and cuddle with her family.

This has been very strenuous on her body, as well as has negativity affected her mood. She will require surgery to correct the IVDD, which is 90-100 percent successful and will need post physiotherapy to help her walk again.

We estimated cost of care can run over $10,000 which is a huge financial cost for my family. Some may think that is crazy to spend on a dog, but she is not just a dog to us, she is our family. We are completely devastated and saddened by this situation.

We understand it is trying times for everyone at this moment. We would appreciate any support that you can provide in assisting Lacey with her treatment.
