Laceys Breastcancer road to recovery
Hi there, my name is Shannon and I have set up this fund-raiser for a very very close friend Lacey Marsh
On the 20th of August 2021 Lacey had undergone surgery and had both breasts removed.
After travelling back and foward for testing: Fine Needle and Core biopsies MRIs, Ultrasounds and countless Mamograms from Gladstone to Brisbane since early April
Lacey was diagnosed with DCIS Grade 3 Breast Cancer May 30th
Because of her family history and diagnosis, she was given 2 choices Lumpectomy and radiation Or Lumpectomy and Bilateral Mastectomy (complete removal of both breasts)
Given the grade, her age at diagnosis and history, Laceys specialist strongly urged the Mastectomy
Lacey is a Mumma, a fiance, a daughter, a big sister, an aunty, a friend and a face that a lot of people know and made the very clear decision she was NOT going to become a Breast Cancer death statistic.
Moving forward on a very positive note the surgery was successful!!!!
But Lacey will be out of work for the unforeseeable future and will be working with her rehab team to tackle the upcoming mental and physical obstacles. She has also had to put her time on hold with her new established business The Ruben Wood Smokers
Whatever support can be given will allow Lacey, Carl and Huey to keep taking one step at a time, one day at a time, and to place the focus where it really should be. ♡♡
