Lacey Township, NJ - Family in Need
Donation protected
I would like to raise money for my friend and her family who suddenly lost their child this week. They moved to the neighborhood a couple years ago, we met while she was moving in and I liked her right away. Jen Seigel is a Warrior type of Mom actually. She has a bright spirit and a loving heart and showed a level of strength and commitment to Mothering to her child that most of us cannot even imagine. Her son Joshua was born multiply handicapped and needed constant 1:1 attention. Severe autism and other genetic problems, sensory integration and self-injurious behaviors along with being completely non-verbal left his ability to function at a level that required an intense amount of care. Jen and her husband Glenn provided that care for 11 tender years, moving to NJ from Long Island to create a life that would bring more ease to the family. When they moved here to my block they brought more Love to our community.
They quickly became a fixture in the neighborhood as Jen would take Joshua and their 7 year old Harrison on daily walks in his bike/wheelchair. So many of the kids in our neighborhood (the Tappan Street Gang) will be impacted by this loss, especially Joshua's sweetest and most constant friend Serenity who spent countless hours playing with and also caring for him. Unfortunately, Joshua passed suddenly this week. His parents have been through a traumatic ordeal. I cannot begin to imagine the pain this is causing them both but I know from sitting with them that they are lost and broken. Even still, in a wild act of Love, Joshua spirit will live on and bless others through organ donation. The family is unprepared for the expenses that are rapidly unfolding as they move toward laying their child to rest. It is my hope that we all can stand together now and reflect our communities Love back to them at this time when they need it the most. Please consider donating and remembering them in your prayers.
100% of the donations will go directly to Glenn and Jen Seigel and are needed immediately.
