Lace Up for Leukemia

Adriana Funaro died at the age of 44 on February 21, 2011 after a courageous and dignified battle with leukemia. Adriana was a devoted mother, a loving wife, a doting daughter, a supportive sister, a caring niece, a fun-loving cousin and a remarkable friend. To all the people who were fortunate enough to know Adriana knew that her daughters meant the world to her. You probably know, that I Claudia, have always had a passion for hockey and ice-skating and that my mom wouldn't miss a game for the world, despite how ill she may have been. This is why, myself and my two best friends, Marie Bond and Sydney Bell, have decided to not only organize an event in memory of Adriana, but to also raise awareness for the horrible disease of Leukemia and Lymphoma cancer. So, we incorporated Adriana’s love for the rink and our desire to give back and have come up with an event called Lace Up for Leukemia.

 The Lace Up for Leukemia fundraiser will be held on March 26, 2016 from 1- 3pm at Burnaby Winter Club (4990 Canada Way) and will surely be a fun filled afternoon. There will be open ice, lots of activities to do, prizes to be won, and of course plenty of yummy snacks! Everyone is welcome to attend, so please tell all your friends!

Aside from the good times and laughs that are sure to be had on this day, we are asking for your generous support in donating to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. You are able to do so on this page or at the event, every donation counts!
