# Van for Ukraine

Dear friends,

Nevertheless, we will continue our work.

My name is Gabriel Hangel, and I am a board member and treasurer of the Mrija Association, a non-profit association based in Vienna, Austria.

We are currently preparing three connected areas of work for the coming months and 2027:

The Labyrinth of Freedom educational tour
Ukraine Emergency Aid
Further European tours in 2027

To carry out all three projects effectively, we need our own reliable van.

1. Labyrinth of Freedom

This autumn, we plan to take the Labyrinth of Freedom on tour through:

Saxony-Anhalt
Berlin
Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

The project is a public educational installation about Russia's war against Ukraine, freedom, democracy, history and disinformation.

The exhibition is presented in public spaces and is accompanied by direct conversations with citizens.

In 2027, we plan further European activities, including projects in:

France
Spain
Italy
Slovakia

The van would be used to transport the exhibition and its equipment between cities.

2. Ukraine Emergency Aid

The coming winter is expected to be extremely difficult for people in Ukraine.

From the end of November 2026 until the end of February 2027, we plan to collect donations in Vienna for humanitarian emergency aid.

We intend to operate donation stands on:

Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Initially, the planned locations are Mariahilfer Straße and Vienna city centre.

Our weekly aid cycle is straightforward:

Friday – Sunday

We collect donations in Vienna.

Monday

The collected funds are used to purchase humanitarian relief supplies.

Depending on the current needs and available funds, these may include food, hygiene products, medical supplies, generators, winter equipment and other humanitarian goods.

Tuesday

The purchased supplies are transported from Vienna to Uzhhorod, Ukraine.

The goods are then handed over to our designated partners for further distribution to people in need.

Wednesday – Thursday

We return to Vienna, document the completed aid delivery and prepare the next collection weekend.

Then the cycle begins again.

Where will the aid go?

The primary destination for our planned humanitarian transports is:

Uzhhorod, Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine.

The specific organizations or local partners receiving the supplies will be identified before each delivery and documented as part of our project records.

Where possible, we will publish information about the purchased goods, the destination and the handover through our website and social-media channels.

How will the money be used?

The purpose of this campaign is primarily to finance the purchase of a reliable used transport van for the Mrija Association.

The vehicle will be used for:

transporting humanitarian relief supplies to Ukraine,
collecting donated goods,
transporting equipment,
transporting volunteers and project materials where appropriate,
transporting the Labyrinth of Freedom between European locations.

The funds raised through this campaign will not be used for personal consumption or private purposes.

The vehicle will remain an asset of the Mrija Association and will be used for its non-profit activities.

If funds exceed the amount required to purchase a suitable vehicle, the remaining funds will be used for the vehicle's necessary preparation and operation or for the humanitarian and non-profit activities described in this campaign, in accordance with the Association's rules and applicable law.

❤️ What about donations already collected?

We have already received donations from supporters for our work.

We would like to ask those supporters for permission to use the donations collected so far towards the purchase of the van.

We believe this is a responsible use of these funds because the vehicle will provide long-term logistical capacity for our humanitarian work and our non-profit projects.

We will communicate this change transparently to existing supporters.

Transparency

We understand that donors want to know where their money goes.

Therefore, we intend to document the project through:

purchase records,
invoices and receipts,
information about purchased relief supplies,
transport documentation,
photographs and videos of deliveries where appropriate,
reports about humanitarian handovers,
and regular updates on our website and social-media channels.

Our aim is to make the entire process understandable:

Donation → Purchase → Transport → Handover → Documentation

Why do we need our own van?

A reliable vehicle would allow us to plan our work independently and repeatedly.

Instead of arranging transportation separately for every delivery or project, we would have a permanent logistical resource belonging to the association.

The same vehicle can support our humanitarian activities during the winter and our educational and non-profit projects throughout the rest of the year.

This makes the van an investment in the long-term capacity of our organization, rather than a vehicle for a single campaign.

How you can help

Our goal is to purchase a reliable used transport van suitable for regular long-distance travel and the transportation of humanitarian supplies.

You can help by:

Donating

Sharing this campaign

Connecting us with companies that may be able to donate or sponsor a vehicle

Connecting us with organizations that can provide humanitarian supplies

Even a small contribution can help us reach our goal.
