Greetings! My name is La'Bria Hannah. I am a senior at Georgia State University majoring in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in ESOL education. Educating young children is my passion! One of my favorite quotes is "It's easier to build strong children than to repair broken men"(Frederick Douglass). I am very excited about my future as an Educator to build strong children and about this wonderful opportunity that I have to study abroad in Italy.
I have earned Dean's list honors since freshman year. I work part-time, I am a volunteer Girl Scout troop leader, and I am also a mentor for pre-teen/teenage girls with the Young Ladies of Distinction.
With graduation fast approaching and all of my hard work finally paying off, my final undergraduate experience and goal is to study abroad. Studying abroad will allow me to observe the inner workings of the Italian education system and apply those methods to my own practice as I pursue my career as an Educator. It will also give me the opportunity to help me decide if I would like to teach abroad at some point in my career.
This will be an amazing experience for me as I learn the scope and sequence of an international education system. It will also help me as an Educator to service the ESOL students I will encounter once I enter the profession.
I work part-time and I have earned a small scholarship to help me pay for this trip. However, in order to make this opportunity a reality I still have a ways to go financially. My internship is planned for March 2016. With the help and support of my family and friends I will be able to make this dream come true. If you can find it in your heart to assist me with a monetary contribution, I would greatly appreciate it and be forever grateful for your kindness. Thank you in advance for your support and well wishes. Blessings to you all.
Kindly,
La'Bria
