Labor of Love: Funding for Horror Short Film.

Peace, what's up? I'm Lamar and I've been on this path to filming my first short film since 2021. Well, as you can guess, it hasn't been fulfilled yet. I keep running into hiccup after hiccup, but I am still as passionate as ever in pursuit of fulfilling my goal.

I started working toward this becoming a dream in 2006. That's when I entered Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts at the age of 29. I've done many personal projects and some small projects for others, and even mini documentaries. In fact, my dream was to become a documentarian and follow in the footsteps of Spike Lee and Oliver Stone by making riveting documentaries that not only told stories but made viewers part of the story as well.

Although I haven't let that portion of my dreams go, I just wanted to shift gears to something that I'm not only passionate about but I'm an avid fan of as well—psychological thrillers and horrors. Horror was basically mine and my mother's cookies and milk before bed on weekends. I know it seems weird, but Richard Pryor Live in Concert was my bedtime music (Thanks, Dad).

To bring this to a close, creating this horror short would be my salute to my mother and our weekends watching "Don't Go in the Basement" and "Hills Have Eyes". So in truth, I'm looking to raise $1500 to $2000 to pay cast and crew. So, if you see this as a worthy donation, I'd be more than honored to list you in my special thanks in the credits.
