Our fundraiser campaign aims to raise funds to support the production of sustainable and ethical clothing in Kenya. By supporting our campaign, you will be contributing to a more sustainable and fair fashion that empowers local communities, promotes regenerative farming and reduces the environmental impact of clothing production.
Labl Fashion is an ethical clothing producer. We help fashion brands create high-quality apparel in an empowering, transparent and planet-positive way: Social. Sustainable. Regenerative.
As a social enterprise, we are a blend of social sustainability and community empowerment. We are seeking your support to empower the community we operate in: provide them with initial cotton seeds, provide them with water through a borehole and pipes, and provide training to give them farming knowledge through demonstration farms and the requisite tools and equipment for fashion production.
The fashion industry must change
We believe the only way to create ethical clothing, make fashion fairer and regenerate the Earth is by undergoing a radical systemic redesign. The fashion industry is the world's second-biggest polluter and the cause of horrible working conditions. It is damaging the planet and exploiting people. It’s not sustainable.
We want to change this and create opportunities for brands, designers, and conscious investors to be part of something beyond profits. We are building better communities and regenerating the environment. Good outcomes for everyone and the planet.
Our production facility is in the middle of the Kenyan savannah, which we aim to preserve by working with many smallholder farmers regenerating the soil.
We have started to refashion the industry
We have set up our first facility in Rakhasi, Sagalla area, a rural village in Voi, Kenya. At the moment our operation employs over 30 people from the local community. We are sourcing fabrics from responsible textile manufacturers, but soon, we will have our ginning, spinning, and weaving facilities. This enables us to produce our textile using cotton produced by farmers surrounding the facility, where the cotton is being grown in strict requirements to improve the soil and therefore the planet; regenerative cotton. More than 1.000 farmers have registered to start growing regenerative cotton. We will manage the whole process sustainably.
But we need your help to change the fashion industry for good
Providing clothing brands with a faster and better way to create fairer fashion - and experience a positive impact on local communities for themselves is not a small feat, it requires resources. We are looking to raise € 300,000 to support our community empowerment mission.
Out of the above, the amounts will be split as follows:
- €100,000: Seeds procurement and distribution. The funds will be spent on regenerative farming by the local community. This will act as a catalyst for seeds and seedlings, and various mechanisms leading to a successful transition to regenerative agriculture.
- €60.000: Training facilities. The funds will be used for the development of the training facilities. We are setting up demonstration farms where the community members will earn knowledge and experience in regenerative farming.
- €50.000: Personnel costs. The funds will be used for hiring and training personnel for one year. Our mission is to create jobs in for the local community, provide fair and liveable incomes, enable people to foster their creativity and give people the opportunity for personal growth.
- €50.000: Community water project. The funds will be used to set up water distribution channels for the community. This implies that community water will provide much relief to the community due to the water problem.
- €40.000: Finish the production facility. The funds will be used for finishing the production facility and buying additional equipment for fashion production.
(Should we not collect all the funds together, we are going to downscale our spending so that we can match the available funds to the suitable project)
