The Label Me Human Campaign

We set out to have a conversation around the pressures and expectations of labels while uniting people under a label we all fundamentally wear; HUMAN.
We believe everyone deserves to be fully self-expressed without judgement or fear. At the end, it is our diversity and our union that helps us win.
Through a series of photographs, we mark each individual as “HUMAN”,simultaneously representing what makes us all unique while celebrating that we are all fundamentally the same.
The Goal
We aim to create a global community of people, companies and organizations uniting in living in a world where people can fully express themselves and be who they truly are, without fear or judgment.
About Me
I feel that the pressure, expectations and perceptions of labels restrict people from expressing who they truly are. It leads to alienation, segregation and even violence.
As a kid, I felt these pressures and learned to become someone I wasn’t. I was terrified of myself and contemplated what it would be like to just not exist. I got really close to making that happen. It felt easier to leave this world than to face who I was. Fortunately, I persevered, but today, I continue to face an uphill battle. A battle in which being myself is met with judgement. Everything is scrutinized. The way I talk, walk and act, the color of my skin, the way I dress, what job I have or how much money I have in the bank. It takes a toll on the conversations I’m able to have and on my journey of self discovery.
I, like everyone else, deserve to feel fully self-expressed. To be ourselves without judgement or discrimination. We need to get to know ourselves and each other without the constraints of fitting a description society dictates for us. At the end, it's us coming together that allows us win as a species. This campaign is the vehicle in which my purpose is realized and it reminds me that I deserve to exist. That we ALL deserve to exist, as individuals and celebrate what makes us human.
Your contribution means more than the items listed above. Money is just a tool and the real value comes in allowing others to participate in the campaign, gain more awareness and overall start the conversation around the pressures of labels. In the hopes that we all can live in a world without fear or judgement of being who we are.

The Experience
Private Photoshoot
with Markas Plato
We bring together attendees that have pre-purchased a photo package in advance. Each photo package tier will designate how many takes they will get with our professional photographer and the package of digital shots you will receive after the event. Upon registration to the event, you will receive an email with details regarding the shoot. You are encouraged to dress in clothes that represent them in the most accurate way and give them some context on the intention of the shoot.
At the event, you will have a chance to discuss the meaning of humanity, what you want to portray and the placement of the tattoo with the Stylist. Your ‘Human’ tattoo will be placed on the skin in a way that seems revealed by the pulling back of a garment or hair. (i.e. a sleeve pulled to the side, a shirt pulled up, hair moved off the face, etc.) When called, you will be directed to the photo area where you will have a private session with the talented photographer. Photos will be sent 1-3 days later with a link for saving and sharing digitally.
After the shoot, you will participate in a “confessional” type interview in a private setting where you are able to reflect upon the experience and your perception on what it means to be "Human." Ending the event connecting and celebrating with others.
The Funding Breakdown
The reality is to get this funded within these next 2 weeks and really bring it into fruition. Hence the number of 10k.
7000 will be allocated towards the start of the campaign including:
