Welcome, I would like to invite you to accompany me on a simple path laid out by Mother Teresa, “Silence is prayer, prayer is faith, faith is love, love is service, the fruit of service is peace.”
In the beginning of my walk on the less traveled path, I heard God calling me to more in the silence of my prayers. In the midst of my comfort I was unaware of what He was calling me to, yet I could feel Him leading me out into the vast unknown. For Pope Benedict XVI said, “But you were not made for comfort. You were made for greatness”. I continued to pray that God would use me in such a way that created GREATNESS, glorifying Him in everything I do.
Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, He led me further down the road, hand in hand. In my prayers, God called me to be faithful above all else. My faith was tested when He laid the desire to be apart of the Summer School of Missionary Evangelism on my heart.
This program is run by the Family Missions Company, and provides young adults the opportunity to join full-time missionaries for a month- long mission immersion program in the Philippines, learning about the Church’s mission while living it out! Missionaries will enjoy an intense life of daily community and personal prayer, fellowship, service in various apostolates, and Christian formation through study. We will experience working with youth, sharing at prayer groups, participating in relational ministry, feeding the hungry, service projects and other ministries around the island.
At this point in my journey I was at crossroads, and instead of choosing comfort, I with the divine guidance of the Spirit turned and chose greatness. I have decided to pursue this desire that the Lord has placed on my heart and will be spending June 11- July 2nd serving His people and diving deeper into His unending love. Through this program God has pushed me to share my faith, so that others may know His love as well; faith is love.
God guides me on this path and leads by example; He calls us to love one another. Through this mission trip, I am going to be embodying how Christ lived on Earth by feeding the poor, serving others and preaching to His peoples. This year I was blessed with the opportunity to lead my sorority through my position as the community service chair. I have found abundant joy in giving of my self to others, for the Lord has already begun to teach me that love is best displayed through service.
Now the path is laid out in front of me heading towards the Philippines, and I ask that you continue to walk with me during this journey. Please consider being of service and praying for me, for the fruit of service is peace. I need you. We as missionaries need you. The people of the Philippines need you, to PRAY! Please pray for our mission work out in the Philippines, that we are able to share with them the same Jesus we have come to know and love. Pray for the openness of their hearts and that God can guide us on how to best be a vessel to them. Secondly, if possible, please donate. Any amount no matter how small goes a long way! I need to raise $4000, and although I am nervous about raising this amount of money in a short amount of time, I know that our God cannot be outdone in generosity. He has granted me peace in trusting that if He can multiply fish and bread, He can stir people`s hearts and provide for me as well. Thank you for taking the time to walk with me on this journey and please don`t forget to invite others to walk on this journey with me by sending this page to any friends who might be interested. May the Lord shower His blessings upon you and fill you with joy!
