La Vida Scholars Summer Campus Tour

La Vida Scholars is a non-profit organization that helps high-achieving students from Lynn, Massachusetts attend great colleges and universities with minimal debt and awards parents who save with matched funds and the training necessary to make informed decisions regarding their child’s higher education.


Since 2007, our graduates have attended top colleges and universities, won over 150 different scholarships, taken part in competitive internship programs, and secured careers at some of the world's most reputable companies, including Google, General Electric and PriceWaterhouse Coopers.





This August, we hope to give our scholars the opportunity to visit, explore and experience universities outside of Massachusetts that they would not easily be able to visit on their own.

College visits are important because any student can:
-get a firsthand view of a college
-get direct answers to personal questions
-obtain valuable, official college material
-can ultimately get a student ready to confidently decide on an institution they want to attend

Why is this trip important?
Visiting out of state colleges will challenge our scholars, allowing them to develop an interest in the unknown and broaden their social & academic perspectives and learn and understand things that are not familiar but can be beneficial for themselves and their future lives and decisions.

"When you visit a campus, you really get to see and feel what student life is like. I had no idea what Skidmore College was like and I had some doubts. But, once I went on their discovery tour and walked around their campus I really felt at home.

La-Vida opened the door for myself and my fellow scholars to continue to visit college campuses. La-Vida takes in teens from Lynn who want to strive to be greater, the chances to be greater. The organization is proof that Lynn can be more than it is. I owe alot of my success to them. 

I hope to leave Skidmore a better man than I am now. I'm just excited to go there and learn and when I do start, I know it's going to be great!"
