La Radio Inzamba Agateka Kawe fête ses 10 ans au service du droit à l'information !

Le 10 juillet 2025, Radio Inzamba aura le plaisir de célébrer une décennie d'engagement indéfectible. Née le 10 juillet 2015 à l'initiative de journalistes contraints à l'exil au Rwanda, notre radio incarne les valeurs de résistance, de courage et d'espoir pour le peuple burundais.

Le nom "Inzamba", qui désigne un clairon traditionnel utilisé lors des célébrations ou pendant la chasse, symbolise notre mission : communiquer, inspirer et galvaniser la population burundaise face aux défis. Comme cet instrument ancestral, notre voix porte loin, informant la communauté burundaise et internationale tout en dénonçant les abus du pouvoir.

Depuis 10 ans, nous diffusons nos programmes en ligne et partageons nos journaux en kirundi et en français sur les réseaux sociaux, afin d’atteindre le plus grand nombre de Burundais, y compris ceux ayant un accès limité à Internet. Nous avons réussi à créer un espace d'information vital, mais nous savons que le chemin reste long.

À l'occasion de cet anniversaire mémorable, nous sollicitons votre générosité pour :

• Renforcer nos capacités de production et de diffusion : Investir dans du matériel de qualité pour améliorer notre contenu.

• Soutenir nos journalistes volontaires : Leur permettre de continuer à réaliser un travail essentiel dans des conditions souvent difficiles.

• Préserver notre indépendance éditoriale : Assurer que notre voix reste libre et sans entrave, loin des influences extérieures.

Support Radio Inzamba: 10 Years of Commitment to Reporting the Truth

Radio Inzamba Agateka Kawe celebrates 10 years of defending the right to information!

On 10 July, Radio Inzamba will be celebrating a decade of unwavering commitment to the right of information, professional journalism, and the defence of press freedom. Founded on July 10, 2015, by Burundian journalists forced into exile in Rwanda, our radio station embodies the values of resistance, courage, and hope for the people of Burundi.

The name ‘Inzamba’, which refers to a traditional trumpet-like instrument used during celebrations or while hunting in Burundi, symbolises our mission: to communicate, inspire and mobilise the people of Burundi in the face of the socio-political, economic, humanitarian, and rights-based challenges. Like this ancestral instrument, our voice carries far, informing the Burundian and international communities while denouncing the abuses of power.

For the past 10 years, we have been broadcasting our radio programmes in Kirundi and French online, sharing the recordings on social networks to reach as many Burundians as possible, including those with limited access to the Internet. We have succeeded in creating a vital information space, but we know that there is still a long way to go.

To mark this memorable anniversary, we are asking for your generosity and support to :

- Strengthen our production and broadcasting capacity: Invest in quality equipment to improve our content.

- Supporting our volunteer journalists: Enabling them to continue doing essential work in often difficult conditions.

- Preserving our editorial independence: Ensuring that our voice remains free and unhindered, independent from external influences.
