Hi, my name is Daniel Aguilar and I am directing the music video for Adriana Vergara's debut song, "La Primera".

We are creating this GoFundMe because we need $5,000 in order to make the best music video/short film possible.

About the Music Video:

Inspired by the film, Memoria.

A woman grappling with the uncertainty of a strained relationship encounters a mysterious sound one night, propelling her into an otherworldly, dreamlike odyssey into the unknown.

From the artist:

My name is Adriana Vergara, a Peruvian American singer and songwriter with lots of big feelings. My musical style draws from diverse musical traditions that I've studied throughout my life. Growing up in Miami, I navigated between American culture and my Peruvian roots.

Throughout my life, I have constantly found myself in liminal spaces - dealing with the uncertainty and constant movement of life. Through songwriting, I've gone through a long journey of self-discovery and self-love, better understanding who I am. My aim is to resonate with those who, like me, find themselves in these ambiguous and transitional liminal spaces.

I am so excited to announce my upcoming debut EP, Retrato, produced by Gabriel Morales. "La Primera" will be the first single and music video we hope to release in late 2023.

Why $5,000?

We are so grateful to have a team of brilliant filmmakers, and artists ready to work on this video. We are aiming to film during late November of 2023. We are raising $5,000 for production design, equipment rental, space rental, transportation, craft services, and to compensate our team members for their hard work. As emerging independent artists, we are not able to cover these costs on our own. Raising this money would give us the opportunity to realize our vision to its fullest potential.

About the song:

“La Primera” is a song about finding yourself in a liminal space within a first love - a situation in which you’re not sure of what the outcome may be. In the chorus I sing that even though this is my first love song, it may be my last because my heart cannot take any more pain - either this love will last me for the rest of my life, or it will end too painfully for me to ever write another love song.
