Hi, I am Jess, and this is my story. Before 2024, I was an egotistic pastry chef who worked in many top hotels and restaurants in Australia. After a burnout at the end of the year, I left my restaurant. I decided to reevaluate if I still want to stay in an industry with so many suffering from mental illness driven by work and immigration pressure. I enrolled in Food Science at the University of Melbourne, hoping to create a better future that does not perpetuate the toxic work culture often found in the service industry.
As I am close to getting my Master's in Food Science at the end of 2025, I want to bring my skills and knowledge to the table by being an entrepreneur who unites the employees as a supportive and fun team, and pass on the same vibe to the customers to create a " sweet community" by opening my dream patisserie shop.
