Dear Fellow Artists,
Hopefully you have seen or at least heard of the unique gem of a film MOONLIGHT. The filmmakers' truly original vision has been lauded across the world and their artistry has garnered unanticipated accolades culminating in multi-nominations for 2017 Academy Awards, a genuine triumph for an underdog of a film. Well, this underdog has been offered a chance to support it and all the other films and cinematic artists of color being honored by attending this year’s Oscar ceremony on February 26th. Here’s the thing…my ticket must be paid for by the Jan 29th [misson accomplished] or the opportunity disappears. So i’m humbly asking for your monetary help…as a loan where necessary; i will gladly repay those who are able to aid me in getting there, but need their funds back. The event ticket is $1,500 [ticket secured, thanks!!] and obviously i’ll have travel, housing, meal and related expenses since i will also use the face-to-face potential leading up to the ceremony and afterwards to advance some projects i’m developing. However, the key to making those contacts is getting into the ceremony [yaaaay!]. i appeal to the underdog in all of us. A big Happy New Year thank you to you all.
