Hello and THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to our first campaign. You made it possible for 3 young scholars from South LA, Watts and Inglewood to show their exceptional skills at an international robotics contest where they succeeded in winning TWO awards. Donald, Erick and Edgar have now returned with a new goal and new team member, Ivory. The four students will now head to the World Championship in Shanghai and they intend to WIN! We have opened a new GoFundMe campaign if you would like to contribute or share (http://tinyurl.com/southlarobotics) . Thank you for making this journey possible. You succeeded in providing a life changing experience for these kids. Their entire world has changed for the better and we appreciate you for contributing to their success. We are "Team Fender"
Three of our team members just took 1st and 2nd place in a local robotics competition (in August 2019) and now we're headed to China for the next level of competition.
Will you consider helping us take part in this "life changing" experience? Our STORY
Our team is part of a Robotics Club in South Los Angeles. We trained together over the summer months to win our last competition, but some of us have been involved in robotics for a few years now. One of our members even made it to a state championship. This time, we're ready to go global!
We work together as a robotics team because we love learning about all things STEAM. We love technology, so we focus on learning about coding, robotics and computer programming. It helps us focus in school and decide between several career choices, but most of all, it's FUN!The FUNDING
We are raising funds to help three students (+1 parent each) and 1coach to get to China for the International WER Robotics competition from October 24-29. We have partial funding, but we still need to purchase 5 plane tickets, 3 hotel rooms and other travel expenses (ground transport, etc).Thank YOU (from the coaches)
Thank you for reading our students' proposal. These young scholars persevered through an intensive summer robotics program and now they're ready for the next level of competition. We are so proud of them!!!! These students are part of our Los Angeles based Robotics Club which provides STEAM and Robotics instruction in areas where students lack regular access to these important classes. We believe all students should have regular access to high quality STEAM instruction. These students have proven that you can surpass all expectations if you put your mind to it. Now let's show them how much support they have!
Please DONATE today :-)
And don't forget to leave your name in the comments so we can recognize you at our next event.
We hope you find it in your heart to help our scholars reach their goal.
