I am Mike Lella and I am living in Cuenca, Ecuador. The community has welcomed me with open arms. The “La Cuadra” sector for which I live, at one time was full of artists. Over the years that has dwindled. I am trying to establish a Place (Lugar) there . My vision is to have a place for people to go and learn arts of varying types; painting, pottery, sculpting, language, dance, etc. This project would help local artists and teachers as well as the community. Part of the requirements of the instructors will be to give a workshop to the children in the community once per month for free. A little goes a long way here. Anything you can spare is welcome.

I have found the building. A wonderful place in the midst of the rejuvenating barrio La Cuadra. Previously a daycare center, it has 2 classrooms, 2 offices, a kitchenette and facilities. Our rent will be $400/ month. Hence our goal to get started.
