La Chat Tanzania Team 2024

As part of the school’s annual humanitarian trip to Tanzania, a group of Year 11 students (15-16 year olds) from the International School of Geneva (La Châtaigneraie campus), will be continuing our long-term fund raising commitment to schools in Tanzania, with service work on the ground, and we are appealing for your help to support them in their efforts.
We will continue to work with both students and teachers at local primary schools in Zanzibar, and with WATU Secondary School (http://www.watusecondaryschool.com/) in Moshi, with whom we have a long-standing relationship. WATU was founded as an NGO in 1996 by former Ecolint teachers, Richard and Katherine Heery, together with Josiah McHome (a former teacher at the Int Sch of Moshi, who became WATU's Director) with the central mission to offer financially disadvantaged children the opportunity to realize their academic potential in secondary school.
Fundraising: Students will be actively involved in raising funds for the work at WATU Secondary School (for a fence to ensure that the campus is safe) and for local primary schools in Zanzibar (for restoring classrooms and providing school equipment for the children).
