Help Us Cross the Finish Line for La Casita

We’re just €1,700 away from completing La Casita, a peaceful wooden cabin in the Algarve that will become our income lifeline and the launchpad for a business helping other women start strong in Portugal.

What We've Done So Far

We’ve done the hard part. Step by step, we’ve:

-Restored the interior

-Repaired a roof leak

-Installed air conditioning

-Replaced fencing on the terrace

-Upgraded the electrics for the bathroom and AC

-Built new housing for the boiler outside the cabin

-Bought a bed with a good quality mattress (sleep is important!)

Why This Matters (Beyond the Cabin)

My sister, Edmée, and I moved to Portugal in late 2024 in search of a slower, more human-paced life. We found the right property, full of charm and challenges.

We’ve made it this far on our own. But here’s the truth:

I’m not just fixing up a cabin. I’m rebuilding a life and a career from scratch.

This cabin will fund our next chapter:

A small business helping women manage home renovations in Portugal without overpaying, getting stuck, or being mansplained.

La Casita gives us breathing room: to repay a loan, generate a regular income, and build something sustainable with clarity, not out of desperation.

What We Need

We’re raising €3,000 to:

-Pay final labour and furnishings

-Cover licensing and basic safety features (fire blanket, extinguishers, septic tank lid, gestor fee)

-Create a small working capital buffer so we can move forward without scraping by.

So far, we’ve raised €1,350.

€550 through this GoFundMe page and €800 via direct donations.

That means we’re now €1,650 away from our goal.

We aim to have everything ready by June 20th.

That’s when we open La Casita to guests for the first time, starting with friends and family.

Donations of €500 or more

We’ll gift you a 4-day / 3-night stay at La Casita. Travel and meals aren’t included, but we’ll host you for a home-cooked dinner as a thank-you.
