Since 1970, Max Martinez from La Banda del Sol has been a pillar of Salvadoran music—a band whose sound accompanied generations and became part of the country’s cultural memory. Their songs lived on radios, in newspapers, on cassette tapes, and on live stages across El Salvador. Now, in February 2026, La Banda del Sol returns for a special four-concert reunion tour, not as nostalgia, but as living history. This Gira de Regreso, “Return”, brings together the surviving members and collaborators who helped shape the band’s enduring legacy, led by Max Martínez, legendary guitarist and one of the original voices behind La Banda del Sol’s sound.
The featured lineup includes Max Martínez, René Muñoz, Julio Molina, and Zorra Dreyfus. Together, they reunite to honor the past, reconnect with audiences, and ensure that the music—and the musicians behind it, are not forgotten. The tour will visit Restaurante Las Tejas in La Palma, Las Cabañas de Apaneca, Teatro y Cocina La Galera in San Salvador, and Café La Térmica in Santa Tecla throughout February 2026.
This tour is both a celebration and a necessity. Funds raised through this campaign will help support the surviving members of La Banda del Sol, assist with medical, living, and travel expenses, and cover production and logistics for this historic reunion. Every contribution helps ensure that this legacy is carried forward with dignity and respect. La Banda del Sol is returning—not just to perform, but to be remembered, supported, and honored. Thank you for standing with Salvadoran music, its history, and the artists who gave it life.
