La Alternativa Project

La Alternativa will be a living holistic community and a healing retreat space to serve others and protect local ecosystems. There will be a key ecological focus to be as sustainable and self sufficient as possible.

I'm the founder of the project and the person in charge of this crowdfunding and the responsible of doing the legal steps to buy the land in the first stage, we are already a group of people from different countries, different cultural background, and many different ideas and projects to achieve,  but we have something in common though, we want to change our life-style and we want to help others to do so too. We have a heartfelt need to start a new way of living and being. Globally we need to preserve and reintegrate with Mother Earth and her/our ecosystems, to halt the progression of the negative impact we cause. Our current way of living is outdated and has become non-viable. For our future wellbeing and survival we need to live in harmony with Mother Earth and use her natural resources sustainably. We want to help shift this tide, to focus on an environmental and sustainable way, to reconnect humanity with our natural roots and resources and thereby create an example of a possible alternative, conscious path of living, being and healing.


Amount to be raised and by when?

We have found a beautiful plot of land of 100 hectares in “La Garrotxa” Girona, Spain. Currently we have a 20% deposit to hold the land until the end of September (we got an extension of the contract, new purchase date: beginning of january) to raise the full funds of 220,000 Euros, after which it will pass to another buyer for their personal use. For this reason we are creating a donation based crowd funding. We would also welcome investors willing to provide a loan by this closing date, to allow for further crowdfunding time and to be repaid when we reach the full amount.


The land is an isolated sanctuary, remote, with access only via a 2km dirt track road. It is in a spectacular mountainous region, with its own rivers, wild untouched forest and natural habitat. There is no noise pollution, air pollution or visual disturbance other than the natural beauty of the surroundings and thereby lends itself perfectly for such a community project. The land includes an 800 m2 stone house dating from 1200 A.C. which needs renovation but would serve in the future as the main community house and welcome centre of the project. There are several other eco-buildings that need renovation and alongside these we would build eco-facilities to house the community, as well as spaces to run workshops and host retreats.


A holistic community will live on site, making use of only compost toilets and ecological showers with only ecological environmental products to be used. Our energy source will be sustainable sourced from solar alone (which we have already in place), our water from the natural rivers, sources and wells, food sourced as wholly as possible from permaculture gardens and fruit trees (many of them already on the land), bees for home made honey, free range chickens for eggs and natural products made from the land.  


Of the 100 hectares, 10 to 15 will be designated for permaculture, fruit trees and different type of projects. The other 85 hectares will be preserved as untouched wild forest. This incredible sacred land is a small paradise, an oasis, isolated beautiful bubble yet easily accessible from the local region and populated areas.

What will the funds raised by this donation based crowdfunding be used for?

To purchase the land and make the first steps towards realising La Alternativa.

Who will benefit from the project?

- The Planet

- Those who wish to protect green land from property development and deforestation, who care about preservation of wild life and natural ecosystems.

- Anyone interested in experiencing a more sustainable, ecological way of living and attending healing retreats and other activities.

- Once we have built the facilities on the land, there will be the opportunity for others outside of and within the community itself to use the spaces to run healing retreats, an animal sanctuary, different types of workshops, the permaculture garden, natural medicine and other projects ideas to be developed as we grow. 

- Anyone who donates will have the opportunity to come to visit and take part in the community in one form or another.

- As we grow as a community we will be able to give shelter to other families and individuals.

- People interested in natural healing remedies and researches as we have a long background in and knowledge of different plants and natural medicines.

For those who donate a certain amount, we would like to offer a reward in our gratitude to be claimed once La Alternativa is in its full form.

100 Euros: A full day workshop.

250 Euros: A basket, on arrival when visiting, of natural and alternative medicines including hemp oil, essential oils, tinctures and different plants grown on site.

Other: A single entry ticket to a festival held on site or a week long healing retreat.

La Alternativa será una comunidad holística, un espacio de retiro de sanación para servir a los demás y ayudar a proteger los ecosistemas locales. El enfoque ecológico será clave para conseguir ser lo más sostenible y autosuficiente posible.


Tenemos la necesidad de comenzar una nueva forma de vivir y de coexistir. Globalmente, necesitamos preservar y reintegrarnos a la Madre Tierra y sus ecosistemas, para detener la progresión del impacto negativo que causamos. Nuestra forma de vida actual está desactualizada y se ha vuelto inviable. Para nuestro bienestar y futura supervivencia, debemos vivir en armonía con la Madre Tierra y utilizar sus recursos naturales de manera sostenible. Queremos ayudar a cambiar, enfocarnos en un modo de vida sostenible y ambientalmente respetuosa, para así reconectar con nuestras raíces y recursos naturales y así crear un ejemplo de una posible alternativa, un camino consciente de vivir, ser y curar.

¿Dinero a recaudar y para cuando?

Somos un grupo de personas de diferentes países, diferentes antecedentes culturales, y muchas ideas y proyectos diferentes para cumplir, pero tenemos algo en común, queremos cambiar nuestro estilo de vida y queremos quiero ayudar a otros a hacerlo también. Hemos encontrado un precioso terreno de 100 hectáreas en “La Garrotxa” Girona, España. Actualmente disponemos de un depósito del 10% para retener el terreno hasta finales de septiembre (tenemos una extensión del contrato, nueva fecha de compra: principios de septiembre) para recaudar los fondos completos de 220.000 Euros, tras lo cual pasará a otro comprador para su uso personal. Por esta razón, estamos creando una campaña de recaudación basada en donaciones. También daríamos la bienvenida a inversores que deseen ofrecernos un préstamo antes de la fecha de cierre.

El terreno es un santuario aislado, remoto, con acceso solo a través de un camino de tierra de 2 km. Se encuentra en una espectacular región montañosa, con sus propios ríos, bosque salvaje virgen y un extenso paraje natural. No hay contaminación acústica, ni contaminación del aire o perturbación visual, nada más que la belleza natural del entorno. Por lo tanto, es un rincón de mundo perfecto para un proyecto comunitario como este. El terreno incluye una casa de piedra de 800 m2 con fecha anterior al 1200 D.C. que necesita renovación pero que un en el futuro será la casa comunitaria principal y centro de acogida del proyecto. Hay varios otros edificios ecológicos que necesitan renovación y, junto con ellos, construiríamos instalaciones ecológicas para albergar a la comunidad, así como espacios para realizar talleres y organizar retiros.

Una comunidad holística vivirá en el lugar, utilizando inodoros de compost y duchas ecológicas. Nuestra fuente de energía será únicamente de origen sostenible, nuestra agua de los ríos, fuentes y pozos naturales, alimentos obtenidos en la mayor medida posible de huertos de permacultura y árboles frutales (muchos de ellos ya en la tierra), abejas para miel casera, gallinas camperas para huevos y productos naturales de la tierra.

De las 100 hectáreas, de 10 a 15 se destinarán a permacultura, frutales y diferentes tipos de proyectos. Las otras 85 hectáreas se conservarán como bosque salvaje intacto. Esta increíble tierra sagrada es un pequeño paraíso, un oasis, una hermosa burbuja aislada de la civilización pero de fácil acceso desde la región local y las áreas pobladas.


¿Para qué se utilizarán los fondos recaudados por este crowdfunding basado en donaciones?

Comprar el terreno y dar los primeros pasos hacia la realización de La Alternativa.


¿Quién se beneficiará del proyecto?


- El planeta

- Aquellos que desean proteger los ecosistemas naturales del desarrollo de la propiedad y la deforestación, que se preocupan por la preservación de la vida silvestre y los ecosistemas naturales.

- Cualquier persona interesada en experimentar una forma de vida más sostenible y ecológica y asistir a retiros de sanación y otras actividades.

- Una vez que hayamos construido las instalaciones en el terreno, habrá oportunidad para que otros fuera y dentro de la propia comunidad usen los espacios para realizar retiros de sanación, un santuario de animales, diferentes tipos de talleres, el jardín de permacultura, medicina natural y otras ideas de proyectos que se desarrollarán a medida que crecemos.

- Cualquiera que done tendrá la oportunidad de venir a visitar y participar en la comunidad de una forma u otra.

- A medida que crecemos como comunidad, podremos albergar a otras familias e individuos.

- Personas interesadas en los remedios e investigaciones curativas naturales ya que tenemos una larga trayectoria y conocimiento de diferentes plantas y medicinas naturales.

Para aquellos que donen cierta cantidad, nos gustaría ofrecer una recompensa en agradecimiento que será reclamada una vez que La Alternativa esté en funcionamiento.

100 Euros: Taller de día completo.

250 Euros: Una cesta, al llegar al sitio, de medicinas naturales y alternativas que incluyen aceite de cáñamo, aceites esenciales, tinturas naturales y diferentes plantas cultivadas en el lugar.

Otros : Entrada única a un festival celebrado en el lugar o un retiro de sanación de una semana.


Con tu ayuda, esperamos establecer emerger un colectivo en esta tierra. Deseamos que a medida que este proyecto se desarrolle y crezca en el futuro, nos extendamos a más parcelas de tierra en esta misma área y en todo el mundo para crear una red.
