Hey friends! As many of you know I have been in private practice (while juggling serving jobs) for 5 years now. As much as I love my one-on-one time treating my modest patient base, I feel like there is more I can be doing in my community with this wonderful medicine. After much research and falling in love with the Community Acupuncture model, I am ready to open a sliding-scale clinic in my neighborhood.
The Community Acupuncture sliding scale structure has fees starting at $15 and extending up to $40 per session. This allows patients access to affordable healthcare as much as they need it, and far below the cost of private sessions or insurance co-pays. Why is this important? In order to reap optimal benefits with Chinese Medicine, you have to be able to receive it with some regularity! If you injure your back, sprain your ankle, suffer from migraines, have insomnia, manage panic attacks, struggle with arthritis, night sweats/hot flashes, vertigo, the common cold, etc., (the list goes on and on...) a treatment every once in a while can't possibly accomplish what frequent sessions, addressing your complaint can.
The Community Acupuncture clinic set-up is a cozy, quiet space, fashioned more in the likes of a living room than a sterile treatment room. Decorated with rugs, dim lights, lazy-boy recliners and soothing music, patients come in, find their favorite chair, grab a blanket and relax! The intake is a few minutes long, needles are inserted and then the patient is left to drift off for as long as they want. A room full of healing and resting people, taking care of themselves, is my definition of building a healthy community.
This is my dream and I am asking for your financial support to help me open a community clinic for you, your friends, neighbors, family members and people you have yet to meet. I need money for recliners and other furnishings, a computer and phone system, to implement an online scheduling and electronic health records program, advertise, the works!
