Cure Ryann's Keratoconus

My best friend needs our help! Shes an amazing person- always ready to help others, an 8th grade school guidance counselor with a passion to enhance the lives of young girls; a loving daughter, great big sister, and the kind of friend you can always count on! But no one is perfect :)
-Unfortunately Ryann has a condition known as Keratoconus. Simply put, Keratoconus is a disease that causes thinning of the cornea which in turn creates distorted vision. This disease has given Ryann "night blindness," trouble seeing further than 10 feet in front of her (even with glasses on), and the need to wear Rigid Gas Permeable lenses-- which can be likened to placing a piece of glass over the cornea. After wearing these contacts for more than an hour or two, her eyes become bloodshot, her vision blurs, and the contacts have to be removed with even the tiniest particle of dirt/dust- causing her vision to be far less than perfect once again.
Although Ryann has been aware of her condition since her early teens, it has increasingly become worse over the years and the life she desires gets further and further out of her reach. Her work performance, community involvement, and personal life have all been affected by Keratoconus. At this point, Ryann has restrictions on her driver's license, and depends on others to do anything outside of her home after 5pm or in the rain, fog, sleet or snow- which can be pretty limiting. Having to depend on friends and family more than ever, Ryann feels like a burden (although I don't believe any of us feel that way) and quite frankly is embarrassed.
She has done all that she is able to do, including a previous surgery which depleted her savings account in 2011 that was supposed to stop the progression of the disease in her right eye as well as improve her vision--neither was guaranteed and neither happened-- with that I am praying that this fundraiser gives her the resources to travel to see Dr. Brian Boxler Wachler who is known to perform a 3 part procedure which corrects vision in patients who have Keratoconus. ( http://www.boxerwachler.com/) The procedures are pricey but successful and have stopped suffering for many of his patients. As a school counselor, Ryann cannot afford this procedure on her own and I am asking that whoever CAN- will donate to this fund so that she can be his next success story and the world can get the best in Ryann back! :)
