39 year old Jill Spinney, has been balancing a full time job as a nanny and a part time job as a waitress on top of raising her two, now teenage, children, Daniel and Emma Reed.  In 2012, this hard-working dedicated single mother's life was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. Throughout all of the chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Jill has never allowed this disease hinder her day to day life. By refusing to let the cancer take control, she managed to continue working both jobs. With a positive attitude, she has overcome the difficulties handed to her by this sickness. 
   Raising her children has not always been the simplest of tasks but Jill has always done everything in her power to ensure that Daniel and Emma are provided with the securities and essentials needed to live. The two teens have been having a difficult time accepting the fact that their young active mother, who they have admired their entire lives, is now battling one of the most life threatening cancers found in women. Not wanting to give cancer the satisfaction of taking her hair, Jill decided to take it upon herself to shave her head. Motivated by their mothers perserverance the teens yearned to make her feel as if she was not going through this battle alone. On a Sunday in November of 2012, Dan and Emma surprised their mother with a priceless and unforgetable gift of freshly shaven heads. With the same generous character as Jill, a total of 18" of hair was donated to Locks of Love. 
    Jill had been cancer free until recently receiving news of a  concerning spot discovered during an emergency cat scan.
