Lincolns open heart surgery
Donation protected
As most of you know, my nephew (3mnth old) Lincoln Schwartzengraber was born with a heart defect called Ebsteins Anomoly. Ebstein's anomaly is a rare heart defect that's present at birth (congenital). In Ebstein's anomaly, your tricuspid valve — the valve between the chambers on the right side of your heart — doesn't work properly. Blood leaks back through the valve, making your heart work less efficiently. Ebstein's anomaly may also lead to enlargement of the heart or heart failure. Lincoln was also diagnosed with hyperinsulinism which causes him to have low blood sugar. Five weeks ago Lincoln was admitted to CHOP due to low blood sugar. The medicine given to him was causing fluid to form around his heart. Since the meds are not working, it is only causing his heart defect to get worse; Lincoln will now need open heart surgery sooner than later. His surgery will take place at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. We are unsure how long their stay will be and how much medical bills will cost in the end. Lincoln is such a brave little guy and somehow throughout all of this is still such a happy smiley baby! Please help reach our goal in supporting Lincoln and his parents Jennifer and Scott through this time of need. No donation is too small.
