A Saint Among Us

The woman I’d like to raise money for is a woman I respect and admire for her courage and strength.  Ms. Candrice’s life was recently turned upside down when she learned that her husband of ten years has an inoperable brain tumor and has a life expectancy of three to six months.  If this news isn’t devastating enough, Ms. Candrice has no idea how she will tell her five year old daughter, who thinks the world of her daddy, that her father only has a precious window of time left with them.  Ms. Candrice’s husband has had to stop working, and she is now the sole provider for her family.  What does she do for a living?  She is a daycare provider in the infant room of the daycare that my boys attend.  Ms. Candrice cared for my older son when he was an infant, and she currently helps me raise my infant son along with seven other babies.  Despite all the stress in her life, Ms. Candrice cares for and loves each of our children as if they were her own.  She is a saint – I don’t know how she has the fortitude to do what she does every day.  My heart pours out to her, and while I know I cannot ease her pain, I want to raise money for her to let her know so many people love her and appreciate her more than she’ll ever know.
